Download my TypeTech presentation for ATypI 2007 Conference in Brighton, about connecting different kinds of applications and tools. Examples shown:
• InDesign as a kerning interface
• automatic kerning with DTL KernMaster in a FontLab Studio workflow
• AFDKO 2 as part of the font generation process
The last one is still required for using lookup types which were unsupported in earlier versions of the AFDKO – on which current versions of font editors still rely. With brief sketches of how I implement automatic uppercase spacing and punctuation spacing. (Will be turned into font production notes later.)

For the FontLab Studio to DTL KernMaster part, also see this
earlier note and download the
Plug In KernMaster script set which includes a detailed manual.

ATypI 2007 Conference in Brighton
The
ATypI 2007 Conference in Brighton (like TypoTechnica in Frankfurt earlier this year and last year's ATypI 2006 Conference in Lisbon) was real fun: wonderful place, beautiful weather, nice people, great ideas!
